Yong Liu is a Principal Investigator and Ph.D. supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology, Nankai University. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (NSFC) and the Zhejiang Provincial Distinguished Young Scholars Award.

His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and self-assembly of bioactive molecular materials, with particular emphasis on their applications and translational potential in overcoming bacterial drug resistance. In recent years, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers as first or corresponding author in leading journals, including Chemical Society Reviews, Advanced Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, and Advanced Science, among which more than 38 papers have impact factors above 10.

Dr. Liu has filed over 30 invention patents, with 10 patents granted to date. He has received multiple honors and awards, including the Chinese Chemical Society Polymer Young Scientist Award, Second Prize of the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Jiangsu “Double Innovation” Doctor, Wenzhou “Oujiang Elite (HaiZhi)” Talent Program, and the National Scholarship for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad. He currently serves as Associate Editor of Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces (IF: 5.6).
